A lifelong educator, Sister Marybeth Beretta is the new president of St. Mary Academy - Bay View, an all-girls Catholic school in Riverside. A Rhode Island native, Sr. Marybeth joined the school at the beginning of this academic year, and brings with her a wealth of educational knowledge and 28 years of experience in Catholic education. Before joining Bay View, Sr. Marybeth worked at La Salle Academy in Providence for over 20 years, and as the Dean of Students at Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School in Pennsylvania. Sr. Marybeth has also served as a board member for organizations like the Special Olympics of Rhode Island.

As a Sister of Mercy, Sr. Marybeth has devoted herself to Catholic education. She’s an experienced leader with exceptional skills in the areas of strategic planning, finance, facilities management and school operations, and will continue to lead Bay View forward as it promotes academic excellence and empowers young women.
