East Meets South
Some restaurants in South County serve Thai dishes on their menus, but no other destination in the area besides Tong-D is an authentically Thai culinary experience. Owners Angie Lim and Chef Nick Aree opened the first Tong D in Barrington in 2009, and opened the South Kingstown location last year. “We’re the only Thai restaurant in South County,” Angie says, “but we’re the biggest Thai restaurant in the state.” The gorgeous space has a gleaming, modern interior, and a function room that can host parties of up to 50 people. Tong-D in South County Commons also has a bigger menu and more hard-to-find Thai dishes, as well as a huge bar area perfect for enjoying a cocktail and a bite.

Get Happy: Tong-D offers a happy hour menu daily from 4-6pm, with discounted appetizers, beer and wine available throughout the restaurant, not just at the bar.

Gluten-Free Dining: The restaurant has an extensive gluten-free menu for diners with wheat restrictions.
