When The Saltwater Tavern opened its doors they readily became a go-to place for friends and family. The inside has been completely remodeled and now hosts a solid wood bar, sleek wooden booths and an industrial-esque ceiling that gives this place an inviting atmosphere. Behind the bar there is a large assortment of drinks from wine and classic cocktails, to a draft selection featuring upwards of 40 kinds of beer, at least five of which are locally brewed.
The menu features an eclectic mix of American and Mexican fare, including a large amount of gluten-free and vegetarian dishes. Start your night off right with the Crispy Brussels Sprouts, having been sautéed in a sesame soy sauce. Follow it up with the Duck Tacos piled high with pulled duck, Spanish rice and a Grand Marnier orange sauce. Vegetarian? Vegan? Gluten-free? Never fear, the menu offers fresh seafood and other great options like Polenta Lasagna. Their Polenta Lasagna is layer after layer of eggplant, sautéed onion, peppers and portabella mushrooms. The kids’ menu even features Chicken Fingers and Mac and Cheese for your picky little eaters. Round out the meal with their decadent Red Velvet Lava Cake (gluten-free of course) before that new bar smell fades away.
Insider Tip: Ask your server about the Saltwater Tavern “Catch of the Day” featuring freshly caught local seafood prepared at the discretion of the chef.
