SHOP: Jamestown’s Curiosity & Co. pairs wine with books and conversation

Thirst for Knowledge

Seeking a “third place” (that spot that’s neither home nor work) to read a book, sip wine, and engage in deep conversation? In the ample space “where Jamestown FISH used to be,” there stands a bookstore and wine bar, mindfully designed with cozy nooks and tables. Have we piqued your interest? Owners Seth Goldenberg and Elizabeth Newton hope so. Together they opened Curiosity & Co. in late October. Goldenberg describes the endeavor as, “an imagination company designing flourishing futures. A place where we celebrate literary and culinary experiences. It is a community asking the most essential questions of our time.” More than a storefront, the space includes an art gallery, featuring a collection of global and local talent, a design studio to serve as an “innovative think tank,” and space to encourage dialogue. But first, wine. “Organic and natural selections, paired with books, paired with snacks, to enjoy alone, or join a new book club,” says Newton, who notes there are plenty of books for kids as well. In warmer months, look for social happenings in the Pop-Up Courtyard. “Great culinary experiences pair wine with a meal. At Curiosity & Co. we pair wine with literary experiences. Curating the unexpected.”
