It’s a fact that Rhode Islanders have big hearts. While many of our beloved small businesses wonder about the future of retail, they continue to move forward with hope, fluid innovative practices, and ways to give back to the community. We’ve collected a starter list of initiatives where you can shop and support a local cause.

Claudia Curl Salon - The Hope Street Providence salon is currently closed but had a T-shirt created to help raise funds for their work neighbors at The Blue Cottage. Purchase a Cut it Out Cut if Off T-shirt and $5 from each sale will go to the Munoz family who own The Blue Cottage. Shirts are made by @teethlikeswordsprinting and feature artwork by @forrestcurl.

Frog & Toad - Selling Knock It Off T-shirts with 20% of all sales being donated to the Rhode Island Foundation's COVID-19 Response Fund. Read our article. Also check out their Quarantine Alphabet Print: 30% of each sale will be donated to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.

Gather Glass - Purchase hand-made Galaxy Glasses and 50% will go to support the artists at Gather and 50% will go to your choice of donating to Crossroads Rhode Island, the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, WaterFire, and the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council.

J Marcel - For every article of clothing you buy on the J Marcel website, they'll donate the exact same thing for their Buy One, Give One campaign to support the Sojourner House, Providence, a non-profit dedicated to promoting healthy relationships for victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

Kelsea Piquette - You may have seen her work displayed at the Nook Coffee House in East Greenwich. Piquette is currently donating 20% of print art sales to local COVID-19 relief.

Kreatelier - For every 10 cloth face masks sold, one will be donated to a local hospital or charity. You can choose shipping or pickup outside our store. If you choose pickup, you have to wait for a call before you can come by the store. Due to a high volume of orders, please allow 1 to 4 days to process for all orders (including pickup orders).

Legacy Letters - Helping parents write keepsake letters for their children. Service easily conducted by phone or internet. All profits to purchase supplies for volunteers sewing medical masks for RI healthcare workers.

Long Live Beerworks - Four dollars from every 4-pack sold of their All Together Beer will be donated to their staff currently out of work, along with matching the donation and spreading between the United Way of RI, the RI Foundation and the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.

NAIL - Myles Dumas, the award-winning ad agency’s head of design has created a set of posters featuring Governor Gina M. Raimondo and Nicole Alexander-Scott, MD, MPH, the Director of the Rhode Island Department of Health. While you may download a PDF, to purchase a printed set from NAIL, make a donation of at least $25 to the United Way of RI and RI Foundation COVID-19 fund, email a screenshot of your receipt, send to info@nail.cc and within a week or so you’ll receive your posters.

Rhody Craft - Kim Clark of Rhody Craft and local artist Voz Perkins of fishcakes have collaborated to create a Rhody Raccoon Flatten the Curve T-shirt and mug which will be donating 20% of gross sales to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.
