Autumn in Rhode Island calls for crisp air, cozy sweaters, and a glass of wine with a view. This year, Sakonnet Vineyard is giving locals and visitors plenty of reasons to head to Little Compton with a jam-packed calendar of events celebrating its 50th anniversary.

Starting October 4, families can wind their way through a festive hay maze built for kids, while adults sip seasonal cocktails, enjoy tastings in the vineyard’s historic cellar, or stretch out on the lawn with games and live music. Every Saturday afternoon through November 29, regional musicians will take the stage from 1-4pm. The lineup includes favorites like Stefan Couture, Elise Black, Ruby Mac, and more, with performances free and open to the public.

October kicks off with a showstopper: on Saturday, October 4, Sakonnet Vineyard will welcome the Audrain Concours as part of Audrain Newport Concours & Motor Week. Between 9:30 and 10:15 am, about 180 exceptional automobiles will parade through the vineyard grounds, with Jay Leno making a special appearance.

The fun continues October 11 and 12 with the vineyard’s 50th Anniversary Harvest Festival. Saturday brings vineyard walking tours, tastings, and family field day activities like pumpkin bowling and face painting, plus live music from the Dave Alves Band. On Sunday, the annual Tiverton Farmers Harvest Market takes over, featuring more than 75 vendors with everything from local produce and artisanal bites to handmade goods. Tent Talks add to the experience, with experts sharing knowledge on beekeeping, regenerative farming, and winemaking.

With hay mazes, live music, classic cars, and a bustling harvest market, Sakonnet Vineyard is making sure its golden anniversary is a season-long celebration. For the full lineup of fall events, visit SakonnetWine.com.
