August weather continues to keep you outdoors with everything from yoga retreats to arts festivals. Not in the mood? Sing along to showtunes or laugh along with a famous comedian. No matter your choice, a great weekend is ahead!

Find balance with nature at the Reconnect Fest at Milk Thistle Farm. This weekend yoga retreat includes guided hikes, workshops, delicious meals, and more to melt your worries away and help bring you back down to earth. August 8-10, Coventry

FRIDAY, August 8

The Imperial Court of Rhode Island presents Broadway Blitz, a night of showtunes in support of a great cause. Top singers in the Providence area will perform some of Broadway’s greatest hits for The Trevor Project, a crisis hotline for LGBTQ+ youth. 8pm, Providence

Don’t miss comedian Colin Jost at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium this weekend. The award-winning Saturday Night Live cast member is bringing a little New York to Providence and will have you laughing all night long. 8pm, Providence

Join supernatural expert David Raby for a Paranormal Investigation at Fort Adams. This four-hour exploration of the park grounds will put you in touch with the fort’s ghostly side as Raby shares chilling rumors and scary stories. 8pm, Newport

Grab your mat and head to Surfers End for some Full Moon Yoga. The evening will be led by instructors from Mend Yoga who will work with all levels on relaxation techniques and deep stretching under the light of a beautiful moon. 6:30pm, Middletown

The Looff Arts Festival takes place on the scenic waterfront of Crescent Park. Vendors will showcase art, including fine paintings, photography, ceramics, and more to add to your collection. Enjoy live music and dance as you shop. 12-6pm, East Providence

Rhode Island’s finest jazz musicians and ensembles unite at the General Stanton Jazz Fest. This outdoor festival serves up all-day jazz with Rhode Island Music Hall of Famer Joe Parillo, Shawnn Monteiro, Dennis Hughs and more. Bring your lawn chair or hang out under the big tent. 1pm, Charlestown
