RhodeWay Financial Helps Clients Meet Their Goals – At No Cost

The father-and-son organization aims to close the access gap for low-income families

Navigating complicated financial decisions is a daunting task for anyone – and especially for those who aren’t able to hire a certified financial planner (CFP) to help. With the vision of bridging the access gap, RhodeWay Financial was established to serve low- to moderate-income individuals, active military members and veterans, and those who have been involved in the justice system, connecting them with a CFP at no cost to tackle their goals.

“We believe that solid financial planning should be available to everyone,” says president and financial planner Kevin Connaughton, CFP. The father-and-son non-profit organization, based in Providence, has been helping clients build budgets, improve credit scores, set up savings plans, and shed light on risk management and estate planning since 2022. “Whether our clients are ready to take the next step in life, need financial stability, or are seeking expert guidance and resources, we offer trusted advice at no charge,” explains Connaughton.

RhodeWay Financial has been awarded Partner of the Year by Providence Promise, a non-profit providing incentives for families saving for college, and Valley Breeze readers selected them as a finalist in the Best Financial Planning category. As of this month, RhodeWay is on track to complete the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program with Community Action Partnership of Providence, enabling them to help individuals and families file their income taxes for free. They also just began a four-year program with Providence Housing to teach financial literacy for participants of the Jobs Plus a Bright Future program.

“Our services are made possible through grants and charitable contributions, allowing us to support those who need it most,” says Connaughton. “We want to make sure that our clients feel secure, and most of all, help them develop the skills and confidence necessary to make complicated financial decisions that benefit them.”
