Ongoing Weekday Must-Do's During Quarantine in Rhode Island

Infuse your Monday through Friday with some music, food, and fun

Posted

Having a wide open week in front of you can be a bit of drag. It’s not quite the fantasy of retirement – lounging on a lawn chair with a drink or hitting the golf course – but more of an isolating time, trying to stay put, keep busy, and be mindful of funds. However, all kinds of places keep coming up with inventive things to do. We’ve assembled a list of virtual ongoing events which don’t cost a lot to add a bit of fun – and routine – to your Monday through Friday.

Mondays at 10am
The Jamestown Arts Center has a variety of virtual at-home activities including a Monday morning drawing class. From 10-11am, instructor Lisa Barusmian will lead you through a relaxing session where you’ll practice drawing everyday objects. Registration is required along with a donation. Visit JamestownArtsCenter.org for details and other class offerings.

Tuesdays at 1pm
Enjoy a lively and humorous mini-concert given by two-time Grammy winner Bill Harley. The fun happens live from his office every Tuesday and Thursday at 1pm EST/EDT. Tune in on Facebook live or can access recordings later by visiting Bill’s website

Wednesdays at 7pm
You may have experienced the fun of WRIK Trivia at a venue and now you can enjoy the hijinx with their Home Edition. One new round of trivia is posted every 30 minutes beginning at 7pm with answers posted at 9:30pm. Games also occur Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Visit WRIK Entertainment for all the info.

Thursdays at 5pm
Each night of the week Phillip Griffin and Malinda Coletta, the husband and wife team known as Professor Chef, offer FREE cooking classes on their Facebook page. If you miss the demo live, no worries, the video moves over to their YouTube Channel

Fridays at 5pm
Food Truck Friday at Roger Williams Park Zoo Carousel Village has reinvented itself so that you can still enjoy this weekly event. Get the list of participating food trucks, their ordering links and pickup location the week of the event. Preorder, prepay and pick up from local food trucks, you can even give back by purchasing a Healthcare First Responder Meal. Visit link for updates.
