The beloved family business is rekindling traditions and spreading festive cheer for generations to come

What’s the secret to a holiday season that feels like stepping into a snow globe? For Tiverton locals, it’s a visit to Helger Bros. Christmas Trees, a family-run treasure that sprinkles nostalgia, community spirit, and a dash of Christmas magic into every visit.

For brothers Cody and Jesse Helger, reviving their family’s Christmas tree tradition was a heartfelt mission. Their uncle, Norman Helger, first planted the seeds in the 1960s, creating a beloved tree stand on Main Road. For decades, it was the go-to spot for holiday cheer – until life got busy, and the tradition was paused. Fast forward to 2013, when the Helger brothers revived their family’s legacy with renewed vigor.

But the Christmas tree farm is just one branch of the Helger family business tree. Jesse helms the construction side of Helger Bros., while Cody runs the tree removal service. Their father and grandfather, meanwhile, carry forward the family’s love of speed and craftsmanship with Helger Bros. Speed Shop and Race Team, a cherished antique car business. For the Helgers, teamwork is a tradition as strong as their evergreens.

“When you step onto our farm, we want you to feel like you’ve walked into A Christmas Story,” Cody Helger shares. “The crackling fire barrel, the scent of fresh-cut trees and cocoa – it’s all about hitting pause on the hustle and bustle to rediscover the simple joys of Christmas.”

But the farm isn’t just about timeless holiday vibes. It’s a testament to sustainability and community. For every tree harvested, a new one is planted each spring, ensuring the tradition thrives for generations. Beyond the evergreens, the Helger family’s passion shines through their multiple ventures, from a turkey ranch to a greenhouse, showing their deep commitment to local roots and seasonal joys.

Planning a visit this season? “Come early!” urges Helger. With just three prime weekends between Thanksgiving and Christmas, there’s no time to lose. The Helgers are proud to be a small business deeply rooted in Rhode Island life. Year after year, they’ve welcomed families back, watching them make memories among the pines. “It’s not just about the trees,” Helger adds. “It’s about being part of your family tradition.” For the latest updates, find them on Facebook at Helger Bros.
