The book club at Wingate Residences on the East Side will meet to discuss "The Boys in the Boat” by Daniel James Brown on Monday, June 24 at 2 p.m. The novel follows the journey of the U.S. men’s Olympic eight-oar rowing team as they trained to compete in the 1936 Berlin Olympics. A heartwarming and inspiring tale, it provides readers with insight into the team’s struggle and dedication that ultimately led to victory.
The Wingate book club launched 10 years ago and remains one of the community’s most popular programs. Since its inception, the club has read more than 120 books.
