Afiba and Her Daughters at Brown University
This weekend the Department of Africana Studies at Brown will present a special Commencement 2016 production of Afiba and Her Daughters, a play written by fifth year PhD candidate Nicosia Shakes. The play tells the story of a Jamaican family while examining the legacies of colonialism and slavery. The performances will also feature the musical stylings of the “high powered” reggae group, the Mystic Jammers, so come enjoy the music and experience one Jamaican family’s troubles and successes.
