Trad Arts Studio Spring Classes 2018

Trad Arts Studio at Slater Mill is just the place to learn some new skills, or expand on those you may already have. On Wednesday Evenings & Saturday Mornings starting on March 31, historic Slater Mill transforms into a studio for learning contemporary art.

Hand Weaving: Lifetime artist & production weaver Suzi Ballenger teaches all levels of weaving in an open studio format on Saturday Mornings. We provide the Harrison Loom. March 31 - June 9 (10 Weeks) $265 + $10 toolkit (optional)

Wheel Spinning: Beth Fitzpatrick, President of the Rhode Island Spinners Guild, teaches beginners on Saturday mornings. Students are provided a rental wheel and ample roving. March 31 - April 28 (5 weeks) $125 + $30 wheel rental

Chair Caning: Master craftsman Steve Emma teaches open-studio chair caning on Wednesday evenings. All levels welcome, you provide the chair & tools, he provides the rush & reeds. April 11 - May 16 (6 weeks) $150

Beginners Knitting: On Wednesday evenings, pattern designer & knit instructor Pam Sluter teaches beginners solid foundations on which to build their knitting futures. April 11 - May16 (6 weeks) $150
