Playwriting fundamentals will examine the building blocks of narrative structure from Aristotle-to-Z. We'll look at existing plays and break down some basic script analysis techniques to study what works in playwriting, and why. We'll do some simple exercises to explore these techniques which you can apply to your own work.
(Note: we will not be looking at longer student work in this abbreviated class; rather, we will investigate the structures and tools that are valuable to playwrights; some outside reading required)
