A Coastal Dining Experience
Every true Rhode Islander knows of The Coast Guard House. Perched on rocks directly over the Atlantic at the end of Narragansett Town Beach, the restaurant has been a local favorite for decades. But like any truly great restaurant, The Coast Guard House is constantly striving for better, and always has something fresh and delicious to try, even for diners who have been there many times before.

Since Hurricane Sandy, the restaurant has undergone major renovations, and keeps adding more ways for people to enjoy the unparalleled view. This year, Coast Guard House has added three fire pits and an Adirondack chair seating area to their outdoor terrace, which serves raw bar, appetizers and cocktails. They also have a downstairs al fresco patio that serves the full restaurant menu, as well as that huge roof deck that’s perfect for a casual lunch before or after the beach, or for dinner.

While everyone knows what a beautiful view the restaurant has, not everyone realizes that the service, food and beverage program are just as memorable. The restaurant’s sommelier, Elisa Wybraniec, oversees an excellent wine selection, especially by the glass. The restaurant just won its second Wine Spectator award. For cocktail lovers, they have a Locally Crafted Cocktails section on their menu. The Coast Guard House has monthly wine and beer dinners planned for October-June, including an October 14 wine dinner with Justin and Landmark wineries.

Up on the Roof: The roof deck at The Coast Guard House gives a whole new meaning to waterfront dining. It offers a casual lunch menu from Memorial Day through Columbus Day, weather permitting.

Eat Local:  When you walk into the restaurant, there’s a board displaying the local food and drink items available that day, like Narragansett Creamery cheese, Walrus and Carpenter oysters, Sons of Liberty whiskey, RI Mushroom Company produce and more.
