A Culinary Welcome to Spring

Narragansett Restaurant Week gives diners a chance to emerge from winter and ease into the warmer months

Posted

“Spring is coming” – Oh, how we wish that this phrase was the motto so often quoted from Game of Thrones. After the holidays, winter can send many of us into a malaise. The little sea towns in Southern Island are desolate, the farmland barren. There are no cherub-like children running around beaches with an ice cream in one hand and a sand shovel in the other. The slog that is February makes us yearn for summer once more. Luckily for Southern New Englanders, “Spring is coming” is a motto that we can certainly adopt. What better way to celebrate the coming of the warmer months than a visit to your favorite neighborhood restaurant?

This month, the Narragansett Chamber of Commerce invites Rhode Islanders to the Narragansett Area Restaurant Week for 11 days between March 21 and March 31. Each year, local restaurants ofer special prix fixe menus to sample some of their most popular fare for reasonable prices. The cuisines are eclectic, ranging from standard American bistro to Asian-inspired meals. Whilst dining, guests are encouraged to sample cocktails, wine, and beer from the cash bars and enjoy performances from local artists. For more information about Narragansett Restaurant Week, you can visit the Narragansett Chamber of Commerce’s website. Here you’ll find restaurant week menus and other information about events during the week.
