Make the most out of your Block Island trip with these fun events

ALL SUMMER

The Block Island Glass Float Project consists of 550 glass floats (glass orbs about the size of a grapefruit) that are hidden around the island. One super special float is made entirely out of gold leaf. Finder’s keepers, but one per person, please.

JULY

JULY 3
Watch the Block Island Fireworks from the beach at dusk in honor of the Independence Day. Crescent Beach.

JULY 3
Or, pair your fireworks with a picnic in front of the beautiful Sullivan House at the second annual Fireworks Picnic. Corn Neck Rd. 401-466-5020.

JULY 4
Stroll along with friends and family and join the celebration at the Block Island 4th of July Parade, which begins at 11am. Begins at New Harbor and ends in the Old Harbor.

The Block Island Arts & Crafts Fair features jewelry, knitted items, paintings and more created by local artists and craftspeople. Block Island Historical Society Lawn, Old Town Rd.

AUGUST 2

The Tri State Canyon Shootout is one of the premier fishing tournaments in the Northeast, departing from the Block Island Boat Basin. 860-739-7419.
