Cable Car Cinema
After a week of laughing at vampires and the escapades of Judi Dench, Cable Car has elected to return to reality with this week’s screening of Timbuktu. The film features the occupation of the eponymous city under militant Islamic rebels; told through the story of an ill-fated cattle farmer who suffers under their rule. After the recent incursion of ISIS, this film is sure to strike topical and emotional chords.

Avon Cinema

Avon on the other hand has decided to let the good times roll with their showing of The Wrecking Crew, a documentary on the little-known studio musicians behind the popular hits of the 60s. This film is the first time the Wrecking Crew has had a chance in the spotlight, and after backing Sinatra, The Beach Boys, Tijuana Brass and more, they are sure to please you eyes and ears.
