Memorial Day on The Bay

Best bets to make the most of your long weekend

Posted

Memorial Day weekend looks sunny and mild this year – ideal for a walk or a good read on the beach. Here are some of the other sure things to do on the East Bay this weekend.

Any Sopranos fan would know 'Georgie' the bartender. The actor, Frank Santorelli is coming to the Comedy Connection in East Providence on Friday at 8pm, for a night of laughter, food, and drink. Tickets are only $15!

If you want to make some noise this holiday weekend check out Gillary's Tavern for Reggae Night with the Mystic Jammers and Mystic Bowie. If you prefer to sing your own tunes, head on over to the Luxury Box on Friday for a $1000 Karaoke contest.

Still want to spend your day outdoors without facing the cool sea breeze? Take a tour of the Blithewood Mansion's breathtaking gardens. The diverse collection of plants is sure to awe and inspire. It also includes a Giant Sequoia tree.

Finally, the state tradition of Waterfire ignites this weekend with the first full lighting of the year.
