Lecture & Book Signing: The Leaders of Rhode Island’s Golden Age

Posted by LindenPlace

On Thursday, October 3, 2019, local author and President of the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame, Patrick Conley, will take us through important points in RI’s history, the subject of his newly published book, The Leaders of Rhode Island’s Golden Age. It was during this period (1861-1900) that Rhode Island played a leadership role in the Industrial Revolution. From military leaders like General Ambrose Burnside to social reformers such as Sarah Elizabeth Doyle and architects Charles F. McKim and Stanford White, they ensured that the state’s contributions to the nation would never be forgotten. Through this lecture, guests will learn about the influential Rhode Islanders who helped make this span of time the greatest in the state’s history!

Dr. Patrick Conley is the President of the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame, president of the Heritage Harbor Museum and chairman of the Rhode Island Senior Olympics.

This event takes place on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 7:00pm inside the historic mansion. Tickets are $10, $5 for Linden Place members.
