Goooo, Fall!

Rhody’s own Patriots cheerleaders share their fave things about autumn

Being a New England Patriots cheerleader isn’t all glamor and glory: workouts, practices, and performances involve vast commitments of time and energy, especially during football season. But the four Rhode Islanders on the 2019-20 Patriots cheerleading squad still make plenty of time for local fun, even in the fall.

Julia Rossi
Scituate • Third Season
“I love to go apple and pumpkin picking at Rhode Island orchards, head down to Providence at night to see the WaterFire festival, and most of all, I love to go to the Roger Williams Park Zoo Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular.”

Kayla Jensen
Coventry • First Season
“I absolutely love the fall in Rhode Island. I enjoy going to the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular, going through haunted houses, and picking apples and pumpkins. I’m also lucky enough to live in Narragansett during the school year, and the beach is absolutely beautiful to walk on during the fall.”

Daescia DeMoranville
Providence • First Season
“One thing that I love about Rhode Island is how small it is. Everything is so close, and only 20 minutes to the beach.”

Miss Rhode Island 2018 also likes spending hours playing video games at Dave & Busters in Providence or hiking in Snake Den State Park.

Jamie Ramirez
Providence • Second Season
“I always wanted to attend the Rhode Island Seafood Festival in India Point Park, but I never got the chance. That is definitely on my bucket list.”

Other favorites include WaterFire, the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular, apple and pumpkin picking, and wine tasting.
