Course: Fundamentals of Interior Design I

Course Dates: 9/13/18-10/18/18. Get an introduction to the basics of interior design, the design process and the tools and skills interior designers use to compose successful interiors. In “Fundamentals of Interior Design I” you'll explore different design styles, industry trends and decorating concepts. We will walk through the design process and you'll complete your first project -- a fully developed room design. The design process will incorporate hand sketching, mood boards and finish material selection. We will also review how to select lighting, furniture, artwork and accessories, and examine spatial relationships, appropriate material usage, color and scale. Class time includes discussions, critiques, demonstrations and hands-on projects.

This is one of 5 courses and workshops being offered this fall at the Westerly Education Center in Westerly, Rhode Island – an easy commute for students in southern Rhode Island and eastern Connecticut.
