City Year Providence's Starry Starry Night Gala

City Year Providence celebrates 25 years of Public Service in Rhode Island!

Please join us on April 27th for City Year Providence's annual gala, an inspiring evening of storytelling and music that celebrates City Year’s 25 year legacy of community building, national service and student success in Rhode Island.

"If I have seen further than others, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” Sir Isaac Newton. At this year’s Starry Starry Night gala will celebrate our core value “Standing on the Shoulders of Giants” by honoring our giants: the 1,104 AmeriCorps members who have served with City Year Providence since 1993, as well as, the sponsors and community partners who made their service possible.

About City Year

City Year Providence’s AmeriCorps members provide targeted support to over 1,000 students in six public school. City Year was founded in 1988 based on the belief that young people in service could help address some of America’s most pressing issues. In the early years, corps members supported a variety of organizations doing important work in their communities. Since 1993, over 1,000 young people have served with City Year Providence, performing more than 2.5 million hours of service. Today, City Year, which has locations in 28 U.S. cities, is fully focused on helping students in high poverty schools stay in school and on track to graduate.
