November 27-December 2: Film moves to the stage in the new musical Anastasia at the Providence Performing Arts Center. From the waning Russian Empire to 1920s Paris, Anya uncovers her past while running from a Soviet hitman, accompanied by a handsome young con man and ex-aristocrat.

November 29-December 1: Comedy Connection presents Boston native and stand-up comedian Robert Kelly. Known for appearances on Comedy Central, Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll, Trainwreck, and more.

November 29-December 2: Celebrate everything merry and bright in Wickford Village during their annual Festival of Lights. The weekend includes a tree lighting, school chorus and band performances, storefront display competitions, a Santa arriving by boat, carols, horse-drawn hayride, and lots of hot cocoa, music, and cheer.

November 29-December 2: The best shopping experiences feel like events: an excuse to relax, take in the sights and smells, and let your mind wander. At the Foundry Artists Holiday Show you can do all of this and peruse handmade jewelry, stellar photography, and eye-catching prints in a gorgeous setting. Plus, you can feel good knowing that you’re supporting local artists.

November 30 - December 22: Everyone’s favorite holiday yarn returns...on a train! Hop aboard the Dickens Christmas Dinner Train at Portsmouth Junction Station and get into that Yuletide locomotive spirit.

December 1:  Check out a holiday celebration with a hipster twist at the Celebrate Downcity Block Party. Get polaroids with Santa, listen to What Cheer Brigade spin vinyl, make-your-own stockings, catch a performance from the Kelly School of Irish Dance, sip hot cocoa (or adult hot cocoa) and check out one-of-a-kind gifts from Craftland, Symposium Books & Records, the Vault and more.

December 1: Gear up for an exciting game of Rhody hoops as the Providence College Friars take on the URI Rams at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in College Men’s Basketball.

December 1: Join the Tomaquag Museum for their annual Nikommo celebration, a holiday of giving. Listen to storytellers, music, and do some shopping at the Native Arts Market. In the spirit of giving, admission is free if you bring an item to donate to someone in need this holiday season.

December 1: Celebrate the Hanukkah season in style at (401)j’s annual Vodka Latke. You can grab some drinks, enjoy Kosher food, and even do some bowling. Plus, 50% of the proceeds go to a scholarship fund to help a child attend summer camp at the Dwares Jewish Community Center.

December 2: Fancy philosophizing and getting into the holiday spirit at the same time? Check out the annual Christmas at Whitehall Museum House, home of the philosopher George Berkeley, where you can enjoy a lavish meal with loved ones.
