Surfer Chic at Warm Winds

Make waves in stylish clothes and accessories at a nautical Narragansett store

Posted

South County is well known for having the best surfs spots in New England and Warm Winds in Narragansett has been riding the waves since opening in 1973. With 500 surfboards in stock and wetsuits in all sizes, it has been a destination for locals and tourists alike. They were carrying stand up paddleboards before the sport was popular and they have a massive selection of skateboard decks for small board riders. After an expansion last year, the store has now tripled in size and gone full steam ahead with clothing and accessories for the complete surf lifestyle.

Although they always had a huge selection of board shorts in tons of colors and patterns and have long carried sandals and skate shoes, pushing the wall down to the next storefront over has allowed them to provide the surfer girls with their own section, including clothes by Billabong, Vissla, Roxy and more. Swimsuits by Imsy, founded by RI native Katie Imswiler, can also be found at Warm Winds. The ladies can outfit their feet in style too, from funky socks to sneaks and sandals.

The guys are covered head to toe in brands like RipCurl, Vans, Jack O’Neill and Quiksilver. Go beyond the bathing suit with polos, button downs and, yes, even funky socks. Warm Winds has their own branded basics from t-shirts to heavy-duty hoodies for those windy days on the coast.

And top the look off with a pair of cool shades. Tons of choices by Ray-Ban, Oakley, Maui Jim and more with complete your shore style.
