1.Del’s. Sweet. Lemony. Cold. Worth the brainfreeze every time.

2. You're never more than 5 miles away from your next clam cake. Iggy’s, Flo’s, Evelyn’s, Blount… they all have fried, pillow-y clam cakes perfect for dunking into Rhode Island style cleayahh chowdah. Not creamy. Cleayah.

14. The oldest and most-Northern topiary gardens in the United States, the Green Animals Topiary Gardens boasts an impressive collection of animal-shaped topiaries, as well as herb gardens and a section of the beach.

16. Slater Mill aka the “Birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution,” began as the first successful factory in America and, in the 1920s, became America’s first museum. It is still open today as a museum to look into the lives of workers of the Industrial Revolution.

25. The Providence Children’s Museum offers fun, interactive activities for children of all ages, including a two-story climbing maze!

26. For a small state we’re pretty boozy… not only do we have a ton of breweries & distilleries, there is a BREW BUS that takes you on a tour of these libation locations so you don’t even need to drive.

27. Our state app is calamari aka fried squid. Yup, legislators took time out of their schedules to make this official… let that sink in.

28. Save the Bay has helped protect and preserve Narragansett Bay for decades, and its beachfront Exploration Center and Aquarium is fun for the whole family.

29. With 58 world premieres and a Tony Award under its belt, Trinity Rep is one of the most renowned theater companies in New England.

30. Partying like it's 1776 on the 4th of July in Bristol, the proud home of the oldest 4th of July Parade in America. Red, white, & blue is everywhere baby! Even in the middle of the street.

31. It’s perfectly okay to pair anchor-pattern pants with pink tops and stripes.

32. Music festivals! Rhode Island hosts a number of famous fests, including the Newport Jazz Festival, the Rhythm and Roots Festival, Newport Folk Festival and numerous waterfront events at the Newport Yachting Center.

33. The award winning Olneyville NY System. Hot tasty meat in your mouth.

34. Driving around Newport. Newport’s Ten Mile Drive combines the history of its wealthy community with a treasure of public parks and miles of public access to shoreline and ranks as one of the most popular drives in the country.

35. Eating. We may be small, but RI boasts a number of internationally recongnized restaurants. Thanks JWU!

36. Take a tour of the Rhode Island State House to see a replica of the Liberty Bell, Gilbert Stuart’s famous portrait of George Washington, and one of the largest rotundas in the world.

37. We sell coffee to kids. Coffee milk (our official state drink) is cold, sweet, and delicious. The rest of the country doesn’t know what they’re missing.

38. The end of the bike path at Independence Park in Bristol... because it's ice cream time!

39. Oysters are everywhere. So many restaurants offer an oyster special on a particular night of the week. If you plan it right, you could eat buck-a-shuck oysters almost every day. FOREVER.

40. In Rhode Island, when you play the Lottery, everybody wins. Since 1974, the Lottery has transferred $5,475,588,917 to the State’s General Fund which supports almost every aspect of life in our State, from education and health care to public safety and the environment. So, you don’t have to play the Lottery to reap its rewards.
