Ok, Rhode Island, it’s been a scorcher outside – we get it. But don’t let the rising temperatures fool you; there are still plenty of cool things to get into this weekend. So, slap on some sunscreen and step away from the AC, these weekend best bets are not to be missed.

ALL WEEKEND

Saint Mary's Feast is finally here for its 108th celebration. The weekend long festivities include a parade, live entertainment, carnival rides and amusement, arts & crafts, and of course delicious carnival food from some of the best vendors in town. Be there Sunday for the spectacular fireworks show to wrap up the weekend.

Thought you’ve had enough hot air this week? Think again. The 35th Annual South County Hot Air Balloon Festival blows into town this weekend with live entertainment by Roomful of Blues, carnival amusements, overnight RV camping, and not to mention “Balloon Glow”, when about 10 balloonists will show off their illuminated aircrafts at sundown. The festival will conclude on Sunday with a Kansas City "Putting the Meat to the Heat” BBQ Competition.

FRIDAY

If you can’t take the heat, then get out of the kitchen and make reservations! Easy Entertaining hosts its July Supper Club. Sit back and relax as you’re served a three-course prix-fixe locavore dinner.  This dinner is BYO and reservations only, so be sure to call ahead and grab your favorite bottle of vino.

Maybe the Land of Oz is cooler this time of year. Circus Smirkus presents “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”, a spin on the Wizard of Oz with acrobatics, clowns, and spectacular feats that will have you clicking your heels together for more.

Spend your weekend enjoying amazing art, music and food at the 33rd Annual East Providence Heritage Days, featuring some of the best tribute artists and musical powerhouses’ on the East Coast.  There will be something for all tastes, including diverse artwork, ethnic foods, crafts, exhibits, classic cars, Power League Wrestling and carnival amusements.

Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church presents the annual Hellenic Fest of Newport. Enjoyi authentic Greek cuisine and pastries, live music and dancing, ouzo, Greek beer and wines and shopping at the marketplace.

SATURDAY

Restaurant City's first annual Summer Block Party features a food truck festival with up to 10 of the area's top mobile eateries. There will also be raffles, prizes and games.

Beat the heat down by the Bay. Registration for Save the Bay’s annual Swim for Naragansett Bay is still open. For those of us who will be staying cool onshore, you can still make a difference by donating to a participating swimmer. Stay cool while supporting a great cause.

The Tenth Annual South Coast Artists Studio Tours gives you the chance to visit the studios of some of the best artists living, working and exhibiting in the four beautiful coastal towns of Tiverton, Little Compton, Westport and Dartmouth. Get an inside look at the life and work of your creative neighbors.

An ice cold brew, blues and BBQ – what’s better than that?  The Newport Blues & BBQ Festival promises all and more. This year’s line-up includes James Cotton Blues Band, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, Matt “Guitar” Murphy with Rick Russell & the Cadillac Horns, Ronnie Earl & the Broadcasters and Quinn Sullivan. Paired with the smoky goodness from the grill and cold brews on ice, you’ve got the makings for a pretty awesome weekend.

SUNDAY
